Installation method of EDM drilling parts

When purchasing EDM drilling parts, we should choose standard parts as far as possible, which helps to coordinate the dimension relationship between workpieces and machine tools. At the same time, we should pay special attention to the location of the workpiece, so we should master the following installation methods of EDM drilling parts.
1) cantilever clamping
Cantilever is used for clamping workpiece, which is easy to install and versatile. However, due to the hanging of one end of the workpiece, the perpendicularity error between the cutting surface and the upper and lower parts of the workpiece is easy to occur. It is only used for machining with less requirements or shorter cantilevers.
2) clamping at both ends.
It is convenient and stable to clamp the workpiece by means of supporting at both ends, and has high positioning accuracy, but it is not suitable for clamping larger parts.
3) bridge supporting method.
This way is to place a pad iron on the general fixture and then clamp the workpiece. It is convenient to clamp and can be used for large, medium and small workpieces.
4) plate support mode clamping.
According to the shape and size of the workpiece commonly used, the workpiece is supported by a through hole supporting plate. This method has high clamping accuracy but poor versatility.


The above is the four installation method of EDM drilling parts. In order to ensure the relative position precision between the cutting surface and the reference plane, the positioning datum plane of theWEDM-LS workpiecemust be adjusted with the alignment method to keep the direction X and y of the worktable and the worktable parallel.
